Changelog OS

Sam · LP · Product lead, pre-launch SaaS

Changelog tool is not live yet. Need a one-page waitlist: one promise, email capture, and a weekly-proof strip. No pricing table.

The product was not shipping yet. I refused a fake pricing table. I needed a waitlist with a reason to stay.

Result

Waitlist page in 7 days: one promise, email, weekly-proof strip — no invented plans.

Before

Coming-soon page with no reason to leave an email.

After

One-pager that explains the changelog tool and captures the waitlist.

The job

Pre-product SaaS pages either over-promise a dashboard or collect emails with no reason to stay. Sam needed a waitlist: one promise, email, weekly proof — no fake pricing for a product that is not shipping.

What we built it to do

A product person can join a waitlist and understand what weekly proof means. They are not asked to pick a plan that does not exist.

Constraints

  • Waitlist one-pager. No app UI.
  • No pricing table until the product is real.
  • Email capture is a waitlist field — ESP connection is the client’s.
  • English only.

How we ran it

  1. Day 1

    Lock the offer

One sentence offer, one primary CTA, audience, and what the page is not.

  2. Day 2–3

    Write the page

Hero, problem, offer, proof block, FAQ, and CTA copy in English.

  3. Day 4–5

    Design + build

Custom one-page layout, mobile pass, and production build.

  4. Day 6

    QA

Tap targets, heading hierarchy, and CTA contrast on a phone.

  5. Day 7

    Handoff

Preview link, domain/deploy notes, and the listed deliverable set.

Decisions in the work

One promise

The page is a changelog tool waitlist, not a five-persona mega-menu.

Weekly proof strip

Gives a reason to give an email besides “launching soon.”

No fake plans

Pricing would be a lie on a waitlist. The pack stays honest.
