The job

Shopify themes still need a homepage story, a product page that sells, and policies. Tess needed those pages, nav, and a checklist — not a custom app.

What we built it to do

A seller can launch a Shopify starter that looks like a brand (home + product + policies) and tick a launch checklist, without a six-month theme rebuild.

Constraints

Starter theme pages, not a custom Shopify app.
No checkout customization / Shopify Plus scripts.
Product photography still seller-supplied for a live job.
No ads.

How we ran it

Day 1
Catalog + positioning
SKU list, buyer, price band, and the one-line shop promise.
Day 2–4
Listing system
Title formula, description blocks, tags, variants, and photo order for the first SKUs.
Day 5–6
Shop voice + policies
About, announcement, shipping, returns, and buyer-message macros.
Day 7–8
Pricing math
Fee → keep worksheet so new SKUs reuse the same margin logic.
Day 9–10
Launch controls
Checklist, one revision round, and what still needs client photos/labels.

Decisions in the work

Home + product first

Those two pages decide if the shop feels real. Blog can wait.

Core policies

Shipping, returns, privacy — enough to open, not a 40-page legal CMS.

Checklist

Payments, shipping profiles, first SKU — the pack ends at launch, not at “we’ll see.”
